So, a lot of my peers give mixed reviews about twitter. Even within student media it seems like twitter is something that you either love or hate. Some people think it’s irrelevant because it is representative of so few of the population. Some think it has revolutionized communication and social interaction. What do you think?
It’s even boggled my mind just how much of an impact twitter has had so quickly. I remember discussing twitter as an emerging media last year and now it has evolved so rapidly. Journalists increasingly making use of twitter. Joe Grimm has made several posts on his JobsPage about using twitter.

Today the Huffington Post unveiled it’s Twitter pages for following the World Series and the health care debate by folks who are tweeting about it. And Craig Kanalley, a Twitter expert, posted on Poynter about how journalists can use Twitter. Both are worth a look. HuffPo’s implementation because it scales to other applications, like meetings and the State of the Union, which I’ll bet at least a beer will get the same treatment. The latter because it describes how to manage a beat through Twitter:
